The Nordic Bedside Wall Lamp from Noreya sets a milk white glass shade on a slim arm, so light falls on the page you are reading instead of spilling across the whole room. Mounted on the wall beside the bed, it frees up the top of a nightstand for a book, a glass of water and a phone, and keeps a small bedroom feeling calm rather than crowded.

The opal glass shade softens the bulb into an even, low glare glow, and the arm holds it at a comfortable height above the pillow. The frame comes in black or gold, both of which sit quietly against painted plaster, panelled walls or exposed brick. At 150 by 450mm it is compact enough for a narrow room, yet substantial enough to work as a pair either side of a double bed.

Wiring is a standard E27 fitting on a 110V supply, with a choice of EU or US plug so the lamp can be plugged in rather than hard wired. A bulb is not included unless you choose the three colour light source, which switches between warm, neutral and cool white. Fitting is a straightforward wall mount; if you are wiring it into a mains circuit, have a qualified electrician do that part.
