Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to wire it in?
No. Solar models charge in daylight and switch on at dusk, and rechargeable ones are topped up indoors and carried back out. There is no cable to run and no socket to find.
Can it stay out in the rain?
Yes. The IP64 rating covers dust and water splashed from any direction, which is what normal weather amounts to. It is not built to be submerged, so keep it out of a pond.
Which size should I pick?
The 20cm and 30cm globes sit well on steps, walls and table tops. The 40cm and 50cm sizes read as a feature on a lawn or beside a seating area, and the 50cm floor standing version is the one to choose if you want it at knee height.
What is it made of?
The shell is PE, a light and weather resistant plastic. It diffuses the light evenly and will not rust or need repainting.
How long does a charge last?
It depends on the size and on how much sun the panel saw that day. A full charge in good weather is enough for a normal evening outside.
